स तानि शर जालानि पक्षाभ्याम् तु विधूय ह ।
चरणाभ्याम् महातेजा बभंज अस्य महत् धनुः ॥३-५१-१३॥
sa tāni śara jālāni pakṣābhyām tu vidhūya ha |
caraṇābhyām mahātejā babhaṃja asya mahat dhanuḥ ॥3-51-13॥
Translation
The high-spirited Jatayu shook off that network of arrows with his wings, and with his feet, he broke his (Ravana's) mighty bow.

उन महातेजस्वी जटायु ने (अपने शरीर में लगे) उन बाण-समूहों को अपने पंखों से झाड़ दिया और अपने पैरों से रावण का वह विशाल धनुष भी तोड़ डाला।
English Commentary
Jatayu demonstrates remarkable resilience and tactical clarity. First, he physically shakes off the 'shara jālāni' (net of arrows) using his wings, symbolizing his refusal to be burdened or pinned down by the attack. Second, he repeats his successful tactic of disarmament. By breaking Ravana's 'mahat dhanuḥ' (great bow) a second time with his feet, Jatayu sends a clear message: no matter how many weapons Ravana wields, the bird will destroy them. It portrays the relentless persistence of the devotee fighting against the might of a tyrant.

जटायु का पलटवार अद्भुत है। पहले उन्होंने अपने पंखों को फड़फड़ाकर रावण के उन हजारों बाणों को झाड़ दिया ('विधूय') जो उनके शरीर पर लगे थे। यह उनकी शारीरिक शक्ति और सहनशीलता का प्रमाण है। इसके तुरंत बाद, उन्होंने वही किया जो पहले किया था—रावण को निहत्था करना। उन्होंने रावण के दूसरे 'विशाल धनुष' (महत् धनुः) को भी अपने पंजों से तोड़ दिया। रावण का बार-बार शस्त्र उठाना और जटायु का उन्हें बार-बार तोड़ना, यह सिद्ध करता है कि जटायु का लक्ष्य रावण की युद्ध क्षमता को नष्ट करना था।
