तत् च अग्नि सदृशम् दीप्तम् रावणस्य शरावरम् ।
पक्षाभ्याम् च महातेजा व्यधुनोत् पतगेश्वरः ॥३-५१-१४॥

pakṣābhyām ca mahātejā vyadhunot patageśvaraḥ ॥3-51-14॥

हिंदी अनुवाद
महातेजस्वी पक्षीराज ने अपने पंखों (की फड़फड़ाहट और प्रहार) से रावण के अग्नि के समान चमकते हुए कवच को भी नष्ट कर दिया।
English Commentary
After destroying the offensive weapon (bow), Jatayu targets Ravana's defense. He shatters the 'sharāvaram' (armor/shield), which is described as glowing like fire ('agni sadṛśam dīptam'). The destruction of this protective gear is significant; it strips Ravana of his perceived invulnerability. Jatayu uses his wings as battering rams to disintegrate the celestial armor. This systematic dismantling of Ravana's war-gear—first the bow, then the armor—shows that Jatayu is dismantling Ravana's ego layer by layer, exposing the vulnerable mortal beneath the demonic exterior.

धनुष तोड़ने के बाद जटायु अब रावण की रक्षा-पंक्ति (Defense) पर प्रहार करते हैं। 'शरावरम्' का अर्थ यहाँ कवच (Coat of mail) है जो बाणों से रक्षा करता है। यह कवच 'अग्नि सदृशम् दीप्तम्' (आग जैसा चमकता हुआ) था, जो रावण की अजेयता का प्रतीक था। जटायु ने अपने वज्र समान पंखों के प्रहार से उसे भी 'व्यधुनोत्' (नष्ट कर दिया/झाड़ दिया)। रावण को कवच-हीन करके जटायु ने उसे आघात-योग्य (Vulnerable) बना दिया। एक पक्षी द्वारा पंखों से धातु के कवच को तोड़ना जटायु की अलौकिक शक्ति को दर्शाता है।
