Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
दृष्ट्वा निपतितम् भूमौ रावणम् भग्न वाहनम् ।
साधु साधु इति भूतानि गृध्र राजम् अपूजयन् ॥३-५१-२०॥
dṛṣṭvā nipatitam bhūmau rāvaṇam bhagna vāhanam |
sādhu sādhu iti bhūtāni gṛdhra rājam apūjayan ॥3-51-20॥
Translation
Seeing Ravana fallen on the ground with his vehicle wrecked, the beings (spirits/deities watching) worshipped the King of Vultures, crying "Well done! Well done!"
हिंदी अनुवाद
रावण को टूटे हुए वाहन के साथ पृथ्वी पर गिरा हुआ देखकर, (आकाश में स्थित) प्राणियों ने "साधु! साधु!" (बहुत अच्छा! बहुत अच्छा!) कहकर गृध्रराज जटायु का पूजन (प्रशंसा) किया।
English Commentary
A moment of universal acclaim. The witness of this duel—the 'bhūtāni' (beings/spirits/celestials)—erupt in applause. The cry "Sadhu! Sadhu!" (Excellent! Bravo!) is the highest praise in Vedic culture. Seeing the tyrant Ravana fallen in the dirt validates the power of righteous conviction over brute force. They 'worshipped' (apūjayan) Jatayu, acknowledging that he has achieved the impossible. This celestial validation serves as a spiritual reward for Jatayu before the tragic turn of events that follows.

जटayu के इस अद्भुत कृत्य को देखकर देवता, सिद्ध और ऋषि-मुनि जो अदृश्य रूप से यह युद्ध देख रहे थे, वे हर्षित हो उठे। 'साधु साधु' (धन्य हो, धन्य हो) की ध्वनि से आकाश गूंज उठा। किसी ने कल्पना नहीं की थी कि एक वृद्ध गीत रावण जैसे महाबली को धूल चटा सकता है। यह 'पूजन' जटayu के धर्म और त्याग का सम्मान है। यह क्षण जटayu के जीवन का सबसे गौरवशाली क्षण है, जहाँ पूरा ब्रह्मांड उनकी वीरता को नमन कर रहा है।
