उत्तम अंग च्युता तस्याः पुष्प वृष्टिः समन्ततः ।
सीताया ह्रियमाणायाः पपात धरणी तले ॥ ॥३-५२-२६॥
uttama aṅga cyutā tasyāḥ puṣpa vṛṣṭiḥ samantataḥ । sītāyā hriyamāṇāyāḥ papāta dharaṇī tale ॥ ॥3-52-26॥
Translation
As Sita was being abducted, a shower of flowers fell from her head (best limb) and scattered all over the surface of the earth.

उस समय हरी जाती हुई सीता के उत्तम अंग (सिर/केश) से गिरी हुई फूलों की वर्षा चारों ओर पृथ्वी पर गिरने लगी।
English Commentary
The verse describes the physical fallout of the violent abduction. 'Uttama anga' refers to the head, the highest part of the body. The flowers adorning Sita's hair are dislodged by the sheer speed and struggle, creating a 'pushpa vrishti' (rain of flowers). This imagery serves a dual purpose: it visually marks the path of abduction, acting as a trail of breadcrumbs, and symbolically represents the shedding of joy and beauty from Sita's life as she is forcefully removed from her sanctuary. The flowers falling to the 'dharani' (earth) symbolizes her separation from her roots.
हिंदी टीका
'उत्तम अंग' का अर्थ है शरीर का सबसे ऊपरी भाग, अर्थात् सिर। सीता जी ने अपने केशों में जो पुष्प धारण किए थे, वे रावण के तीव्र वेग और सीता के संघर्ष के कारण टूटकर गिर रहे हैं। इसे 'पुष्प वृष्टि' (फूलों की वर्षा) कहा गया है। यह दृश्य अत्यंत करुण है—प्रकृति की कोमलता (पुष्प) क्रूरता के झोंके को सह नहीं पा रही है। पृथ्वी पर फूलों का गिरना इस बात का संकेत है कि सीता जी धरती (अपनी माता) से दूर जा रही हैं, और वे फूल निशानी के तौर पर पीछे छूट रहे हैं। यह वियोग का पहला भौतिक प्रमाण है।
