विक्रोशन्तीम् दृढम् सीताम् दृष्ट्वा दुःखम् तथा गताम् ।
ताम् तु लक्ष्मण राम इति क्रोशन्तीम् मधुर स्वराम् ॥ ॥३-५२-४२॥
vikrośantīm dṛḍham sītām dṛṣṭvā duḥkham tathā gatām । tām tu lakṣmaṇa rāma iti krośantīm madhura svarām ॥ ॥3-52-42॥
Translation
Seeing that sweet-voiced Sita, who had fallen into such great grief, crying out loudly "Rama! Lakshmana!"... (continued in next verse).

उस समय अत्यंत दुख को प्राप्त और "हे राम! हे लक्ष्मण!" पुकार कर जोर-जोर से विलाप करती हुई उस मधुर भाषिणी सीता को देख... (अगले श्लोक में वाक्य पूरा होता है)।
English Commentary
This verse describes the auditory scene of the abduction. Sita is characterized as 'madhura svaram' (sweet-voiced), but currently, she is 'vikroshantim' (crying out loudly) in distress. She invokes the names of her protectors, "Lakshmana, Rama," emphasizing her desperation. The contrast between her naturally sweet voice and the harsh necessity of screaming highlights the brutality of the moment. The verse sets the stage for the consequential statement in the following shloka.
हिंदी टीका
यहाँ सीता जी की अवस्था का वर्णन है। वे 'मधुर स्वराम्' (मीठी आवाज़ वाली) हैं, लेकिन इस समय वे 'दृढम् विक्रोशन्तीम्' (जोर-जोर से चिल्ला रही) हैं। संकट के समय भी उनकी वाणी की मधुरता और उनके विलाप में प्रियजनों (राम और लक्ष्मण) का नाम है। यह श्लोक एक भूमिका (build-up) है अगले श्लोक के लिए, जो रावण के विनाशकारी कृत्य पर केंद्रित है। सीता का क्रंदन वन की शांति को भंग कर रहा है और सुनने वालों के हृदय को विदीर्ण कर रहा है।
