विधास्यति विनाशाय त्वम् माम् यदि न मुंचसि ।
येन त्वम् व्यवसायेन बलात् माम् हर्तुम् इच्छसि ॥३-५३-१४॥
vidhāsyati vināśāya tvam mām yadi na muṃcasi । yena tvam vyavasāyena balāt mām hartum icchasi ॥ ॥3-53-14॥
Translation
If you do not release me, this very endeavor by which you wish to abduct me forcibly will lead to your destruction.
हिंदी अनुवाद
यदि तुम मुझे नहीं छोड़ते हो, तो जिस उद्यम (प्रयास) से तुम मुझे बलपूर्वक हरना चाहते हो, वही तुम्हारे विनाश का कारण बनेगा।
English Commentary
Sita delivers a prophetic warning about the consequences of Ravana's persistence. She states clearly that his current "endeavor" (vyavasāyena)—the forceful abduction—is the very mechanism that will engineer his destruction (vināśāya). It is a statement on the irony of fate: the act Ravana believes will bring him pleasure or power is actually the architect of his downfall. She presents a conditional ultimatum ("If you do not release me"), reinforcing that his fate is still in his hands, but only if he abandons his current course. Sita identifies herself not just as a victim, but as the catalyst for his ruin. By holding onto her, he is holding onto his own death.

सीता जी यहाँ कर्म के सिद्धांत को स्पष्ट करती हैं। वे रावण को बताती हैं कि उसका यह 'व्यवसाय' (उद्यम/प्रयास) ही उसके अंत का साधन बनेगा। रावण सोच रहा है कि सीता का हरण उसे सुख या विजय देगा, लेकिन सीता भविष्यवाणी करती हैं कि यह कृत्य साक्षात् मृत्यु है। 'विधास्यति विनाशाय'—यह (कृत्य) विनाश की व्यवस्था करेगा। यह श्लोक स्पष्ट करता है कि रावण का पाप का घड़ा भर चुका है। यदि वह अभी नहीं रुकता (यदि न मुंचसि), तो वापसी का कोई रास्ता नहीं बचेगा। सीता यह स्पष्ट कर रही हैं कि राम को उसे मारने के लिए लंका आने की भी आवश्यकता नहीं थी, रावण ने स्वयं सीता का हरण करके अपनी मृत्यु को गले लगा लिया है। उसका अपना कर्म ही उसका शत्रु बन गया है।
