धारितुम् शक्स्यसि चिरम् विषम् पीत्वा इव निर्घृणः ।
बद्धः त्वम् काल पाशेन दुर्निवारेण रावण ॥ ॥३-५३-२२॥
Dhāritum śaksyasi ciram viṣam pītvā iva nirghṛṇaḥ । Baddhaḥ tvam kāla pāśena durnivāreṇa rāvaṇa ॥ ॥3-53-22॥
Translation
O merciless Ravana! Just as one cannot survive for long after drinking poison, neither will you. You are bound by the noose of Time, which is impossible to ward off.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे निर्दयी रावण! जिस प्रकार विष पीकर कोई अधिक समय तक जीवित नहीं रह सकता, वैसे ही तुम भी नहीं बचोगे। तुम काल के उस पाश से बंध गए हो जिसे हटाना असंभव है।
English Commentary
Sita calls Ravana Nirghrina (merciless/cruel). She uses a potent analogy: abduction is like drinking poison. The moment the act is committed, the process of death begins, regardless of the victim's immediate health. There is no antidote for this karmic poison. She reiterates the concept of the Kalapasha (noose of Time), adding the adjective Durnivarena (difficult/impossible to ward off). This implies that Ravana's boons from Lord Brahma, which made him arrogant, are now null and void against the destiny he has triggered.

सीताजी रावण को 'निर्घृण' (घृणारहित/क्रूर) संबोधित करती हैं। वे रावण के कर्म की तुलना 'विषपान' से करती हैं। जैसे विष शरीर में जाते ही अपना काम करना शुरू कर देता है, वैसे ही सीता का अपहरण रावण के कुल के विनाश का विष बन चुका है। 'दुर्निवारेण' शब्द महत्वपूर्ण है—इसका अर्थ है कि अब रावण चाहे जितनी भी तपस्या, शक्ति या वरदान का प्रयोग कर ले, यह कालपाश अब टलने वाला नहीं है। यह घटनाक्रम अब अपरिवर्तनीय (irreversible) हो चुका है।
