त्वया एव नूनम् दुष्टात्मन् भीरुणा हर्तुम् इच्छता ।
मम अपवाहितो भर्ता मृग रूपेण मायया ॥ ॥३-५३-४॥
tvayā eva nūnam duṣṭātman bhīruṇā hartum icchatā । mama apavāhito bhartā mṛga rūpeṇa māyayā ॥ ॥3-53-4॥
Translation
"O evil-souled one! Indeed, you are a coward. Wishing to abduct me, it was by you that my husband was lured away through the illusion of the deer form."

"हे दुष्टात्मा! निश्चय ही तू कायर (भीरु) है। मेरा हरण करने की इच्छा से तूने ही मायावी मृग के रूप से छल करके मेरे पति को यहाँ से हटाया था।"
English Commentary
Sita deconstructs Ravana's strategy, exposing it as an act of fear. She calls him 'bhiruna' (coward). She realizes and articulates that the golden deer was a 'maya' (illusion) orchestrated by him solely to remove her husband ('apavahito bharta') because he dared not face Rama in battle. By calling him 'dushtatman' (evil-souled), she condemns his character. This verse shows Sita's sharp intellect; despite the trauma, she connects the dots regarding the deer and the abduction instantly.

सीता जी अब पूरी साजिश को समझ गई हैं। वह रावण को 'दुष्टात्मन्' (दुष्ट आत्मा वाला) और 'भीरु' (डरपोक) कहती हैं। वह समझ गई हैं कि वह स्वर्ण मृग (मारीच) एक चाल थी ('मायया')। 'अपवाहितो' का अर्थ है दूर हटाना या बहा ले जाना। रावण ने राम का सामना करने का साहस नहीं किया, इसलिए उसने छल का सहारा लिया। सीता का यह कथन रावण के बलशाली होने के भ्रम को तोड़ता है और उसे एक डरपोक षड्यंत्रकारी सिद्ध करता है।
