सुधा मणि विचित्राणि भूमि भागानि सर्वशः ।
दशग्रीवः स्व भवने प्रादर्शयत मैथिलीम् ॥ ॥३-५५-११॥
sudhā maṇi vicitrāṇi bhūmi bhāgāni sarvaśaḥ । daśagrīvaḥ sva bhavane prādarśayata maithilīm ॥ ॥3-55-11॥
Translation
Ten-headed Ravana showed Maithili the various floorings in his mansion, which were inlaid with gems and plastered with white nectar-like stucco.

दशग्रीव (रावण) ने अपने भवन में मैथिली (सीता) को हर तरफ अमृत (सफेद प्लास्टर/संगमरमर) और मणियों से जड़े हुए विचित्र फर्श (भूमि भाग) दिखाए।
English Commentary
Ravana acts as a tour guide in his own home, pointing out the flooring (bhūmi bhāgāni) to Sita. The floors are described as vicitrāṇi (wonderful/varied), made of white stucco (sudhā) and inlaid with precious gems (maṇi). This is a direct contrast to the rough forest floor Sita has been traversing in Dandakaranya. Ravana helps her visualize the comfort she could enjoy. The use of the name Daśagrīvaḥ (Ten-necked one) here subtly reminds us of his monstrous form even as he points out delicate architectural details, creating a jarring juxtaposition of beauty and beast.

रावण अब सीता का ध्यान फर्श ('भूमि भागानि') की ओर आकर्षित करता है। वे साधारण मिटटी या पत्थर के नहीं, बल्कि 'सुधा' (अमृत जैसी सफेदी/चूना) और 'मणि' (रत्नों) से बने हैं। वन में सीता कुश (घास) या जमीन पर सोती थीं; यहाँ रावण उन्हें मणियों से जड़ी धरती दिखा रहा है। 'प्रादर्शयत' (दिखाया) क्रिया यह स्पष्ट करती है कि रावण एक मार्गदर्शक (guide) की भूमिका निभा रहा है, लेकिन उसका उद्देश्य पर्यटन नहीं, बल्कि प्रलोभन है। वह सीता (मैथिली) को यह महसूस कराना चाहता है कि राम के साथ उसका जीवन कितना कष्टप्रद है और रावण के साथ कितना आरामदायक हो सकता है।
