तेषाम् प्रभुः अहम् सीते सर्वेषाम् भीम कर्मणाम् ।
सहस्रम् एकम् एकस्य मम कार्य पुरःसरम् ॥ ॥३-५५-१५॥
teṣām prabhuḥ aham sīte sarveṣām bhīma karmaṇām । sahasram ekam ekasya mama kārya puraḥsaram ॥ ॥3-55-15॥
Translation
O Sita, I am the lord of all of them, who are doers of terrible deeds. For every single task of mine, a thousand attendants wait in front.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे सीते! मैं उन सभी भयानक कर्म करने वाले राक्षसों का प्रभु हूँ। मेरे एक-एक कार्य के लिए एक-एक हजार सेवक तत्पर रहते हैं।
English Commentary
Ravana personalizes the power. He is the prabhuḥ (Lord) of this massive, terrifying populace. He emphasizes the efficiency and luxury of his court: for every single task (ekam ekasya kārya), a thousand servants wait to execute it. This is a direct appeal to Sita's current hardships. In the forest, she has to work; in Lanka, she would be served by legions. Ravana is trying to commodify her loyalty, suggesting that her current life of service to Rama is unnecessary drudgery compared to the queenly life he offers.

रावण अपने प्रभुत्व (authority) को रेखांकित करता है। वह उन ३२ करोड़ 'भीम कर्मणाम्' (भयानक कर्म करने वाले) राक्षसों का एकमात्र स्वामी है। यह उसकी शक्ति की निरंकुशता को दिखाता है। वह अपनी विलासिता का वर्णन करते हुए कहता है कि उसके एक छोटे से कार्य के लिए भी 'सहस्रम्' (हजार) सेवक दौड़ पड़ते हैं। वह सीता को यह विषमता (contrast) दिखाना चाहता है: एक तरफ राम हैं जिनकी सेवा के लिए सीता को स्वयं जंगल में कष्ट उठाने पड़ते हैं, और दूसरी तरफ रावण है जिसके इशारे पर हजारों दास खड़े हैं। उसका प्रस्ताव है—'दासी बनने के बजाय, इन हजारों दासों की मालकिन बनो'।
