इति प्रति समादिष्टा राक्षस्यो रावणेन ताः ।
अशोक वनिकाम् जग्मुः मैथिलीम् परिगृह्य तु ॥३-५६-३२॥
Iti prati samādiṣṭā rākṣasyo rāvaṇena tāḥ । Aśoka vanikām jagmuḥ maithilīm parigṛhya tu ॥ ॥3-56-32॥
Translation
Thus commanded by Ravana, those Rakshasis took Maithili (Sita) and went towards the Ashoka Vatika.
हिंदी अनुवाद
रावण द्वारा इस प्रकार आदेश दिए जाने पर, वे राक्षसियां मैथिली (सीता) को साथ लेकर अशोक वाटिका की ओर चल पड़ीं।
English Commentary
This verse marks a transition in the narrative setting. The confrontation ends, and the incarceration begins. The phrase "parigrhya" (taking hold of or surrounding) indicates that Sita is being escorted under guard, likely physically coerced or closely watched. The immediate execution of Ravana's order by the Rakshasis underscores the absolute power he wields in Lanka. Sita is moved from the public eye to the secluded confinement of the Ashoka grove.

यह श्लोक स्थान परिवर्तन का सूचक है। रावण का दरबार या वह स्थान जहाँ अब तक संवाद हो रहा था, वहां से दृश्य अब 'अशोक वाटिका' की ओर बढ़ता है। 'परिगृह्य' शब्द का अर्थ है 'पकड़कर' या 'साथ लेकर'। सीता जी अब स्वतंत्र नहीं हैं; उन्हें कैदियों की तरह ले जाया जा रहा है। रावण का आदेश अंतिम था और राक्षसियां उसका तुरंत पालन करती हैं, जो रावण की निरंकुश सत्ता को दर्शाता है।
