निवर्तमानः त्वरितो जगाम आश्रमम् आत्मवान् ।
आत्मनः च अपनयनम् मृग रूपेण रक्षसा ॥३-५७-११॥
Nivatarmānaḥ tvarito jagāma āśramam ātmavān । Ātmanaḥ ca apanayanam mṛga rūpeṇa rakṣasā ॥ ॥3-57-11॥
Translation
Reflecting on his own lure/abduction by the Rakshasa in the form of a deer, the self-controlled Rama returned quickly towards the hermitage.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(उस छल पर विचार करते हुए कि) कैसे मृग रूपी राक्षस द्वारा उनका (राम का) अपनयन (हर लिया जाना/दूर ले जाया जाना) हुआ, वह आत्मवान (धैर्यशाली) राम शीघ्रता से आश्रम की ओर लौट पड़े।
English Commentary
The text refers to Rama as "Atmavan" (self-possessed/composed) even in this moment of panic. He objectively analyzes his tactical error: "atmanah apanayanam" (his own being led away). He realizes he was outmaneuvered by the shape-shifter. This blend of urgent action ("tvarito") and mental composure defines Rama's character as the ideal man (Maryada Purushottam).
