Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
श्रुतः च मन्ये वैदेह्या स स्वरः सदृशो मम ।
त्रस्तया प्रेषितः त्वम् च द्रष्टुम् माम् शीघ्रम् आगतः ॥३-५८-१४॥
śrutaḥ ca manye vaidehyā sa svaraḥ sadṛśo mama |
trastayā preṣitaḥ tvam ca draṣṭum mām śīghram āgataḥ ॥3-58-14॥
Translation
I think that sound resembling my voice was heard by Vaidehi too. Frightened, she sent you, and you came quickly to see me.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मैं मानता हूँ कि वैदेही ने भी मेरे स्वर जैसा वह शब्द सुना होगा और वह भयभीत हो गई होगी। उसी ने (डरकर) तुम्हें भेजा होगा और तुम मुझे शीघ्र देखने चले आए।
English Commentary
Rama reconstructs the sequence of events with empathy. He realizes that Sita, hearing the 'svara sadrisho mama' (voice resembling mine), acted out of sheer terror ('trastaya'). He deduces that Lakshmana was 'preshita' (sent/dispatched) by her. This understanding bridges the gap between the brothers; Rama acknowledges that Lakshmana's arrival was compelled by Sita's panic and his own concern, rather than a willful neglect of duty. It shows Rama's capacity to see the truth behind actions even in his distress.

श्रीराम यहाँ पूरी स्थिति का मानसिक चित्रण कर लेते हैं। वे सीता की मनोविज्ञान को समझते हैं—'त्रस्तया' (भयभीत स्त्री द्वारा)। वे जानते हैं कि सीता ने वह स्वर सुना होगा और पति के अनिष्ट की आशंका से घबराकर लक्ष्मण को विवश किया होगा। 'प्रेषितः' (भेजा गया) शब्द से स्पष्ट है कि राम जानते हैं कि लक्ष्मण अपनी इच्छा से नहीं आए, बल्कि सीता के आग्रह या आज्ञा पर आए हैं। इस प्रकार राम परोक्ष रूप से लक्ष्मण को कर्तव्य-भंग के दोष से मुक्त कर रहे हैं।
