त्वम् इक्ष्वाकु कुलस्य अस्य पृथिव्याः च महारथः ।
प्रधानः च अपि नाथः च देवानाम् मघवान् इव ॥ ॥३-६-८॥
tvam ikṣvāku kulasya asya pṛthivyāḥ ca mahārathaḥ । pradhānaḥ ca api nāthaḥ ca devānām maghavān iva ॥ ॥3-6-8॥
Translation
You are the heavy-charioteer (great warrior) of this Ikshvaku lineage and of the earth. You are the principal Lord and protector, just as Indra (Maghavan) is of the gods.
हिंदी अनुवाद
आप इस इक्ष्वाकु कुल के और पूरी पृथ्वी के महारथी हैं। आप ही प्रधान स्वामी (नाथ) हैं, जैसे देवताओं के स्वामी इंद्र हैं।
English Commentary
The sages begin their address by invoking Rama's lineage and status.

ऋषिगण अपनी बात का आरंभ राम की वंशावली और उनके पद की याद दिलाकर करते हैं। 'महारथः' शब्द उनकी योद्धा प्रवृत्ति को रेखांकित करता है।
