उद् भ्रमन् इव वेगेन विक्षिपन् रघु नन्दनः ।
तत्र तत्र उटज स्थानम् अभिवीक्ष्य समंततः ॥ ॥३-६०-४॥
Ud bhraman iva vegena vikṣipan raghu nandanaḥ |
Tatra tatra uṭaja sthānam abhivīkṣya samantataḥ ॥3-60-4॥
Translation
Like one confused and whirling about, moving his limbs violently, Raghunandana looked at the hut and everywhere around it.
हिंदी अनुवाद
रघुनंदन श्रीराम घबराहट में भ्रमित से होकर, अपने अंगों को (हाथ-पैर) तेजी से पटकते हुए, पर्णकुटी के आसपास और सब ओर देखने लगे।
English Commentary
This verse vividly depicts Rama’s frantic physical state. He is described as 'ud bhraman iva' (as if whirling or wandering in confusion), indicating a loss of composure. The phrase 'vegena vikṣipan' suggests violent or agitated movements of his limbs, a physical manifestation of his internal chaos. He searches 'samantataḥ' (all around) and 'tatra tatra' (here and there), checking the hut and its surroundings repeatedly. This creates a moving image of desperation; the controlled, poised prince is now frantically running about, unable to process the absence of Sita, hoping she might just be concealed somewhere nearby.

सीता को न पाकर श्रीराम की स्थिति एक ऐसे व्यक्ति की तरह हो गई है जो अपना विवेक खो बैठा हो। 'उद् भ्रमन् इव' (जैसे भ्रमित हो गए हों) उनकी दिशाहीनता को दर्शाता है। वे एक जगह स्थिर नहीं रह पा रहे हैं। 'वेगेन विक्षिपन्' (तेजी से हाथ-पैर पटकना या हिलाना) उनकी हताशा और क्रोध मिश्रित व्यग्रता का द्योतक है। वे कुटिया के हर कोने में, हर वृक्ष के पीछे, 'तत्र तत्र' (यहाँ-वहाँ) सीता को खोज रहे हैं। यह एक वीर योद्धा का व्यवहार नहीं, बल्कि एक विरही पति का व्यवहार है जो अपनी प्रियतमा के वियोग को स्वीकार करने को तैयार नहीं है।
