प्राप्स्यसि त्वम् महाप्राज्ञ मैथिलीम् जनक आत्मजाम् ।
यथा विष्णुः महाबाहुः बलिम् बद्ध्वा महीम् इमाम् ॥ ॥३-६१-२४॥
Prāpsyasi tvam mahāprājña maithilīm janaka ātmajām |
Yathā viṣṇuḥ mahābāhuḥ balim baddhvā mahīm imām ॥3-61-24॥
Translation
"O greatly wise one, you will obtain Maithili, the daughter of Janaka, just as the mighty-armed Vishnu bound Bali and recovered this earth."

"हे महाप्राज्ञ! जिस प्रकार महाबाहु विष्णु ने बलि को बाँधकर इस पृथ्वी को पुनः प्राप्त किया था, वैसे ही आप भी जनकनन्दिनी मैथिली को प्राप्त करेंगे।"
English Commentary
Lakshmana offers a powerful mythological analogy here, referencing the Vamana Avatar. He addresses Rama as Mahāprājña (greatly wise) to pierce through the cloud of grief with logic and memory. The analogy is precise: just as Vishnu recovered the earth by binding the demon king Bali, Rama will recover Sita. Implicitly, Lakshmana represents the voice of faith reminding the Lord of his own capabilities and divinity. Comparing the recovery of Sita to the recovery of the Earth (Mahim) is symbolically potent, given Sita's origin from the earth (furrow).

लक्ष्मण यहाँ एक अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण पौराणिक दृष्टांत (वामन अवतार) देते हैं। वे राम को 'महाप्राज्ञ' (अत्यंत बुद्धिमान) कहकर संबोधित करते हैं ताकि उनका विवेक जागृत हो सके। उपमा यह है: जैसे विष्णु ने राजा बलि से तीन पग भूमि मांगकर पृथ्वी को वापस पाया था, वैसे ही राम सीता को वापस पाएंगे। यहाँ गूढ़ अर्थ यह भी है कि लक्ष्मण राम को उनके वास्तविक स्वरूप (विष्णु) का स्मरण करा रहे हैं, भले ही अप्रत्यक्ष रूप से। सीता की तुलना 'वसुंधरा' (पृथ्वी) से करना भी साभिप्राय है, क्योंकि सीता पृथ्वी से ही जन्मी थीं।
