अनादृत्य तु तत् वाक्यम् लक्ष्मण ओष्ठ पुट च्युतम् ।
अपश्यन् ताम् प्रियाम् सीताम् प्राक्रोशत् स पुनः पुनः ॥ ॥३-६१-३१॥
Anādṛtya tu tat vākyam lakṣmaṇa oṣṭha puṭa cyutam |
Apaśyan tām priyām sītām prākrośat sa punaḥ punaḥ ॥3-61-31॥
Translation
But disregarding those words falling from Lakshmana's lips, and not seeing his dear Sita, he cried out again and again.

परंतु लक्ष्मण के होठों से निकले उन वचनों का आदर (ध्यान) न करके, अपनी प्रिय सीता को न देखकर, राम पुनः बार-बार विलाप करने लगे।
English Commentary
The grief is so profound that words of consolation fall flat. Anādṛtya (disregarding) here does not imply disrespect, but rather an inability to process logic due to being submerged in sorrow. Rama's mind is entirely fixated on the absence of Sita (apaśyan tām). Lakshmana's arguments appeal to the intellect, but Rama is operating purely on emotional anguish, creating a disconnect. His continued crying sets the stage for the frantic search that will drive the narrative forward in the coming chapters.

दुःख की तीव्रता इतनी अधिक है कि सांत्वना के शब्द व्यर्थ प्रतीत हो रहे हैं। 'अनादृत्य' (तिरस्कार/उपेक्षा करके) का अर्थ यहाँ अपमान नहीं, बल्कि शोक में डूबे होने के कारण ध्यान न दे पाना है। राम के मन में केवल सीता का अभाव ('अपश्यन् ताम्') छाया हुआ है। लक्ष्मण के तर्क बुद्धि के स्तर पर हैं, जबकि राम की पीड़ा भावनात्मक स्तर पर है, इसलिए दोनों का मेल नहीं हो पा रहा। राम का विलाप जारी रहता है, जो आने वाले सर्गों में उनकी खोज को और अधिक व्यापक बनाएगा।
