कर्णिकार वनम् भद्रे हसंती देवि सेवसे ।
अलम् ते परिहासेन मम बाधावहेन वै ॥ ॥३-६२-५॥
Karṇikāra vanam bhadre hasantī devi sevase |
Alam te parihāsena mama bādhāvahena vai ॥3-62-5॥
Translation
"O Gentle Lady! O Devi! Smiling, you are frequenting this Karnikara grove. Enough of your joking, which is indeed causing me pain."

"हे भद्रे! हे देवि! तुम हँसती हुई इस कर्णिकार के वन में विचरण कर रही हो। मेरे लिए कष्टदायक इस परिहास (मजाक) को अब बस करो।"
English Commentary
Rama now projects Sita's smile onto the blooming Karnikara flowers. Addressing her as hasantī (smiling/laughing), he begins to plead. The phrase alam te parihāsena (enough with your joking) shows his growing desperation and impatience. He perceives her silence not as absence, but as a cruel prank. The joke has become bādhāvahena (pain-bearing). This marks the transition from playful accusation to plea, revealing the agony behind his hallucinations.

राम को अब खिले हुए कर्णिकार के फूलों में सीता की हँसी का आभास हो रहा है। वे उसे 'हसंती' (हँसती हुई) संबोधित करते हैं। राम अब थोड़े अधीर हो रहे हैं और कहते हैं 'अलम् ते परिहासेन' (तुम्हारे मजाक की अब अति हो गई है)। उन्हें लग रहा है कि सीता जानबूझकर उन्हें सता रही हैं। 'बाधावहेन' शब्द दर्शाता है कि यह खेल अब उनके लिए असहनीय पीड़ा का कारण बन रहा है। यह श्लोक आशा और निराशा के बीच झूलते हुए मन की व्यथा को प्रकट करता है।
