Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
राज्य प्रणाशः स्व जनैः वियोगः पितुर् विनाशो जननी वियोगः ।
सर्वानि मे लक्ष्मण शोक वेगम् आपूरयन्ति प्रविचिन्तितानि ॥ ॥३-६३-५॥
Rājya praṇāśaḥ sva janaiḥ viyōgaḥ pitur vināśō jananī viyōgaḥ । sarvāni mē lakṣmaṇa śōka vēgam āpūrayanti pravicintitāni ॥ ॥3-63-5॥
Translation
O Lakshmana! The loss of the kingdom, separation from my own people, the death of my father, and the separation from my mother—when I reflect upon all these misfortunes, they collectively intensify and fill me with a surge of overwhelming grief.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे लक्ष्मण! राज्य का नाश, स्वजनों से वियोग, पिता की मृत्यु और माता से बिछड़ना—जब मैं इन सब का चिंतन करता हूँ, तो ये सब मिलकर मेरे शोक के वेग को और अधिक बढ़ा देते हैं (भर देते हैं)।
English Commentary
This verse poignantly illustrates the cumulative nature of grief. Sri Rama, who has hitherto borne the hardships of exile with stoic resolve, now finds his defenses crumbling. He confesses to Lakshmana that the abduction of Sita acts as a catalyst, dredging up all past traumas. The loss of his royal heritage, the death of King Dasharatha, and the separation from his mother—sorrows he had suppressed or managed—have now returned with full force. It highlights the psychological reality that a fresh tragedy often reignites unresolved griefs. Sita was the anchor that allowed him to endure the forest life and previous losses; without her presence, the dam breaks, and he is flooded by the totality of his misfortunes. It reveals Rama not just as a divine figure, but as a deeply feeling human being overwhelmed by a cascade of tragedies.
हिंदी टीका
इस श्लोक में श्री राम की मानवीय संवेदना और संचित पीड़ा का मार्मिक चित्रण है। अब तक श्री राम ने वनवास के कष्टों को धैर्यपूर्वक सहा था, परन्तु सीता जी के हरण ने उस धैर्य के बाँध को तोड़ दिया है। वे लक्ष्मण से कहते हैं कि सीता का वियोग कोई एक नई घटना नहीं है, बल्कि यह उस अंतिम चोट की तरह है जिसने पुराने सभी घावों को हरा कर दिया है। राज्य का छिनना, पिता दशरथ का देहावसान और माता कौशल्या का वियोग—ये सब दुःख जो अब तक दबे हुए थे, सीता के अभाव में पुनः एक वेग (तूफ़ान) बनकर उमड़ पड़े हैं। यह दर्शाता है कि विपत्ति में मनुष्य को पुराने दुःख भी घेर लेते हैं। सीता जी ही वह शक्ति थीं जिनके कारण राम इन सभी पूर्व दुःखों को भूले हुए थे, किन्तु उनके न होने से अब राम को अपना सम्पूर्ण जीवन ही शोक से भरा हुआ प्रतीत हो रहा है।
