तौ लोहितस्य प्रिय दर्शनस्य सदा उचितौ उत्तम चंदनस्य ।
वृत्तौ स्तनौ शोणित पंक दिग्धौ नूनम् प्रियाया मम न अभिभात ॥ ॥३-६३-८॥
Tau lōhitasya priya darśanasya sadā ucitau uttama candanasya । vṛttau stanau śōṇita paṅka digdhau nūnam priyāyā mama na abhibhāta ॥ ॥3-63-8॥
Translation
Those round breasts of my beloved, always worthy of the finest red sandalwood paste and delightful to behold, must surely now be smeared with blood and mire, having lost their radiance.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मेरी प्रिया के वे दोनों गोल स्तन, जो सदा उत्तम लाल चंदन के लेप के योग्य थे और (मेरे लिए) प्रिय दर्शन थे, निश्चय ही आज (राक्षस के नखों के घाव से) खून और धूल (कीचड़) से सन गए होंगे और अब शोभा नहीं पा रहे होंगे।
English Commentary
This verse presents a stark and visceral contrast between the memory of intimacy and the brutal reality of abduction. Rama recalls the beauty of Sita, specifically referencing how she was usually adorned with cooling, fragrant red sandalwood paste (lohitasya chandanasya). In his terrified imagination, this image is replaced by one of horror—her body now smeared with blood (shonita) and dirt/mire (panka). This imagery suggests physical violence or the rough handling by the demon. It is a raw expression of a husband's anguish, fearing the physical desecration of his wife's grace. By contrasting the tender care she deserved with the brutality she is likely suffering, Rama expresses a profound sense of violation and helplessness.

यहाँ वियोग का अत्यंत यथार्थवादी और करुण चित्रण है। यह श्लोक श्रृंगार रस और करुण रस का मिश्रण है। श्री राम दाम्पत्य जीवन की अंतरंग स्मृतियों को याद करते हुए भयभीत हो रहे हैं। जिन्होंने अंगों पर सुगंधित लाल चंदन का लेप होता था, राम कल्पना करते हैं कि संघर्ष और अपहरण के दौरान वे अंग अब रक्त और धूल ('पंक' अर्थात कीचड़) से सने होंगे। यह राक्षस द्वारा सीता के पवित्र शरीर के घर्षण और चोट पहुँचाने की आशंका है। यह राम के मन में उठ रहे क्रोध और घृणा को भी जन्म देता है कि उनकी पत्नी की पवित्रता और कोमलता को किस प्रकार रौंदा गया होगा। यह वर्णन सीता के प्रति राम के गहरे प्रेम और उनके शारीरिक कष्ट के प्रति उनकी संवेदनशीलता को दर्शाता है।
