ताम् हेम वर्णाम् हेम अंगीम् सीताम् दर्शय पर्वत ।
यावत् सानूनि सर्वाणि न ते विध्वंसयामि अहम् ॥ ॥३-६४-३१॥
tām hema varṇām hema aṅgīm sītām darśaya parvata । yāvat sānūni sarvāṇi na te vidhvaṃsayāmi aham ॥ ॥3-64-31॥
Translation
"Show me that Sita of golden complexion and golden limbs, O Mountain, before I destroy all your peaks."

"हे पर्वत! उस स्वर्ण-वर्ण वाली और सुवर्ण जैसे अंगों वाली सीता को दिखाओ, इससे पहले कि मैं तुम्हारे सभी शिखरों को ध्वस्त कर दूँ।"
English Commentary
Rama issues a direct ultimatum. He describes Sita as 'hema varnam' (golden-hued), a traditional description of her radiance. The threat to destroy the mountain's peaks ('sanuni ... vidhvamsayami') is literal. This is not empty posturing; it is the rage of an Avatar whose patience has snapped. It illustrates the extent of his attachment and the dangerous potential of his power when provoked. He views the mountain's silence as an obstruction to his Dharma of protecting his wife.

यह श्लोक राम के प्रचंड क्रोध की पराकाष्ठा है। सीता को 'हेम वर्णाम्' (सोने के रंग वाली) कहा गया है, जो उनकी आभा का वर्णन है। राम पर्वत को सीधी धमकी दे रहे हैं। यह अब केवल प्रश्न नहीं, बल्कि आदेश है। "विध्वंसयामि अहम्" (मैं ध्वस्त कर दूँगा) दर्शाता है कि राम अपने प्रिय के वियोग में सृष्टि का विनाश करने के लिए भी तैयार हैं। यहवाल्मीकि रामायण का एक दुर्लभ क्षण है जहाँ राम की सौम्यता पूरी तरह से आक्रामकता में बदल जाती है।
