Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
कस्य इमे निहता बाणाः प्रकीर्णा घोर दर्शनः ।
शरावरौ शरैः पूर्णौ विध्वस्तौ पश्य लक्ष्मण ॥ ॥३-६४-४९॥
kasya ime nihatā bāṇāḥ prakīrṇā ghora darśanaḥ । śarāvarau śaraiḥ pūrṇau vidhvastau paśya lakṣmaṇa ॥ ॥3-64-49॥
Translation
"Whose terrifying arrows are these scattered about? See, O Lakshmana, these two quivers full of arrows, completely destroyed."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"ये भयानक दिखने वाले बाण किसके हैं जो (व्यर्थ होकर) बिखरे पड़े हैं? हे लक्ष्मण! देखो, बाणों से भरे हुए ये दो तरकश (शरावरौ) कैसे नष्ट हो गए हैं।"
English Commentary
Rama points out the 'sharavarau' (two quivers) that are shattered yet still full. This implies a sudden, violent impact that destroyed the warrior's capacity to reload before he emptied them. The arrows are 'ghora darshanah' (terrible to look at), designed for cruelty. Rama is systematically cataloging the weaponry to gauge the enemy's martial class (Atirathi or Maharathi). The destruction of such gear suggests a physical struggle of immense force.

'शरावरौ' (दो तरकश) का नष्ट होना दर्शाता है कि योद्धा को निशस्त्र कर दिया गया था। 'घोर दर्शनः' (भयानक दिखने वाले) बाण अब जमीन पर 'प्रकीर्णा' (बिखरे) हैं, जो उनकी विफलता का प्रतीक हैं। राम लक्ष्मण का ध्यान इस ओर खींचते हैं कि शत्रु के पास अपार शस्त्र-भंडार था, फिर भी उसे यहाँ रोका गया। यह उस अज्ञात रक्षक (जटायु) की वीरता की मूक प्रशंसा भी है जिसने इतने भयानक शस्त्रों का सामना किया।
