मम चाप गुण उन्मुक्तैः बाण जालैः निरंतरम् ।
मर्दितम् मम नाराचैः ध्वस्त भ्रांत मृग द्विजम् ॥ ॥३-६४-६४॥
mama cāpa guṇa unmuktaiḥ bāṇa jālaiḥ niraṃtaram । marditam mama nārācaiḥ dhvasta bhrāṃta mṛga dvijam ॥ ॥3-64-64॥
Translation
The world will be crushed continuously by the network of arrows released from my bowstring and by my Narachas (iron arrows), leaving beasts and birds confused and destroyed.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मेरे धनुष की प्रत्यंचा से निरंतर छूटते हुए बाणों के जाल से और मेरे नाराच (लोहे के बाण) से यह जगत कुचल दिया जाएगा, जिससे पशु और पक्षी भमित होकर नष्ट हो जाएंगे।
English Commentary
The phrase 'Bana jalaih' (network of arrows) is significant. Shri Rama is speaking not of single shots, but of a relentless rain of missiles. 'Narachas' are heavy iron arrows capable of piercing armor. The confusion (bhranta) of the beasts and birds indicates that the chaos of his assault will be so intense that even innocent creatures will be disoriented and perish. This is a realistic depiction of the horrors of war, where in the heat of supreme rage, the distinction between the guilty and the innocent risks becoming blurred.

यहाँ 'बाण जालैः' (बाणों के समूह/जाल) शब्द महत्वपूर्ण है। श्रीराम एक-दो बाण नहीं, बल्कि बाणों की वर्षा करने की बात कर रहे हैं। 'नाराच' लोहे के भारी बाण होते हैं जो कवच भेदने में सक्षम हैं। पशु-पक्षियों की भ्रामक स्थिति (भ्रांत) यह दर्शाती है कि युद्ध का कोलाहल इतना भीषण होगा कि निर्दोष प्राणी भी दिशाभ्रमित होकर मारे जाएंगे। यह युद्ध की विभीषिका का यथार्थ चित्रण है, जहाँ क्रोध में धर्म और अधर्म के बीच का विवेक धुंधला पड़ने लगता है।
