Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
समाकुलम् अमर्यादम् जगत् पश्य अद्य लक्ष्मण ।
आकर्णपूर्णैरिषुभिर्जीवलोकंदुरावरैः।
॥३-६४-६५॥
samākulam amaryādam jagat paśya adya lakṣmaṇa । ākarṇa pūrṇair iṣubhir jīva lokam durāvaraiḥ ॥ ॥3-64-65॥
Translation
Behold the world today, O Lakshmana, confused and boundless (chaotic), caused by my irresistible arrows drawn fully to the ear.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे लक्ष्मण! कान तक खींचे हुए और रोकने में कठिन मेरे बाणों से आज तुम इस जीवलोक को व्याकुल और मर्यादा रहित (बिखरा हुआ) देखो।
English Commentary
Shri Rama uses the word 'Amaryadam' (without bounds/lawless), which carries profound weight. He, the very embodiment of boundaries (Maryada Purushottam), is now threatening to dissolve the boundaries of creation due to grief. 'Akarna purnaih' (drawn to the ear) signifies archery performed with maximum power and focus. When the Protector himself threatens to become boundless in destruction, the world becomes 'Samakulam' (utterly distressed). Rama invites Lakshmana to witness how the agony of separation can become the catalyst for total annihilation.

श्रीराम यहाँ 'अमर्यादम्' शब्द का प्रयोग कर रहे हैं, जो बहुत गहरा अर्थ रखता है। वे जो स्वयं मर्यादा पुरुषोत्तम हैं, आज शोक के कारण सृष्टि की मर्यादा को भंग करने पर उतारू हैं। 'आकर्ण पूर्णैर्' (कान तक खींचे हुए) का अर्थ है पूरी शक्ति और एकाग्रता के साथ बाण चलाना। जब रक्षक ही अमर्यादित हो जाए, तो जगत 'समाकुल' (अत्यंत व्याकुल) हो जाता है। श्रीराम लक्ष्मण को साक्षी बना रहे हैं कि देखो, प्रेम का वियोग किस प्रकार विध्वंस का कारण बन सकता है।
