Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
यथा जरा यथा मृत्युः यथा कालो यथा विधिः ।
नित्यम् न प्रतिहन्यन्ते सर्व भूतेषु लक्ष्मण ।
तथा अहम् क्रोध संयुक्तो न निवार्यो अस्मि असंशयम् ॥ ॥३-६४-७६॥
yathā jarā yathā mṛtyuḥ yathā kālo yathā vidhiḥ । nityam na pratihanyante sarva bhūteṣu lakṣmaṇa । tathā aham krodha saṃyukto na nivāryo asmi asaṃśayam ॥ ॥3-64-76॥
Translation
Just as old age, death, time, and destiny cannot be perpetually resisted by any living being, O Lakshmana, similarly, filled with anger, I cannot be checked; of this, there is no doubt.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे लक्ष्मण! जिस प्रकार बुढ़ापा, मृत्यु, काल और विधि (भाग्य) को कोई भी प्राणी कभी रोक नहीं सकता, उसी प्रकार क्रोध से युक्त मुझे रोक पाना असंभव है, इसमें कोई संशय नहीं है।
English Commentary
This verse elevates Rama's anger to a philosophical absolute. He equates his fury with the irresistible forces of existence: old age, death, time, and fate (Vidhi). By asserting that he is as unstoppable as these cosmic constants, Rama identifies himself with Kala (Time/Destiny). It signifies that his wrath is no longer an emotion that can be soothed but a force of nature that must run its course. Resistance is futile.

यह श्लोक श्रीराम के क्रोध को दार्शनिक स्तर पर ले जाता है। वे अपने क्रोध को 'प्राकृतिक और अनिवार्य सत्य' (Inevitable Truth) के समान बताते हैं। जैसे मृत्यु और बुढ़ापा जीवन के अटल सत्य हैं, वैसे ही राम का यह क्रोध अब एक अटल विधान बन चुका है। वे स्वयं को 'काल' (समय) के समकक्ष खड़ा कर रहे हैं। इसका अर्थ है कि अब अनुनय-विनय का समय समाप्त हो चुका है, जो होना है वह होकर रहेगा।
