Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
को नु दार प्रणाशम् ते साधु मन्येत राघव ।
सरितः सागराः शैला देव गन्धर्व दानवाः ॥ ॥३-६५-११॥
ko nu dāra praṇāśam te sādhu manyeta rāghav । saritaḥ sāgarāḥ śailā deva gandharva dānavāḥ ॥ ॥3-65-11॥
Translation
O Raghava, who indeed would approve of the loss (abduction) of your wife? Neither rivers, nor oceans, nor mountains, nor gods, Gandharvas, or Danavas.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे राघव! आपकी पत्नी के अपहरण (नाश) को कौन अच्छा मानेगा? न नदियाँ, न सागर, न पर्वत और न ही देवता, गंधर्व या दानव (कोई भी इसका समर्थन नहीं करेगा)।
English Commentary
Rama felt that nature and the cosmos were either hostile or indifferent to him. Lakshmana dismantles this perception. He assures Rama that no one—neither gods nor demons—would condone such a heinous act as abduction. Even the rivers and mountains are grieving. By stating this, Lakshmana aims to alleviate Rama's sense of isolation, assuring him that the universe (morally speaking) stands with him, not against him. This assurance of cosmic empathy is vital to diffuse Rama's anger.

राम को लग रहा था कि पूरी प्रकृति उनके खिलाफ है या उनकी उपेक्षा कर रही है। लक्ष्मण इस भ्रम को तोड़ते हैं। वे कहते हैं कि कोई भी—चाहे वो देवता हों या दानव—इस घृणित कार्य (सीता हरण) का समर्थन नहीं करेगा। नदियाँ और पर्वत भी दुखी हैं। यह कहकर लक्ष्मण राम को यह महसूस कराना चाहते हैं कि वे अकेले नहीं हैं; पूरी सृष्टि (नैतिक रूप से) उनके साथ है। सहानुभूति (Empathy) का यह आश्वासन राम के क्रोध को शांत करने के लिए आवश्यक है।
