Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
न अलम् ते विप्रियम् कर्तुम् दीक्षितस्य इव साधवः ।
येन राजन् हृता सीता तम् अन्वेषितुम् अर्हसि ॥ ॥३-६५-१२॥
na alam te vipriyam kartum dīkṣitasya iva sādhavaḥ । yena rājan hṛtā sītā tam anveṣitum arhasi ॥ ॥3-65-12॥
Translation
Just as virtuous men cannot do harm to one consecrated for a sacrifice, these worlds are unable to cause you displeasure. O King, you should search for the one by whom Sita was stolen.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जैसे यज्ञ में दीक्षित यजमान का साधु लोग अहित नहीं करते, वैसे ही ये लोक आपका अप्रिय करने में समर्थ नहीं हैं। हे राजन! जिसने सीता का हरण किया है, आपको (केवल) उसे खोजना चाहिए।
English Commentary
A beautiful analogy is used here. Just as virtuous people do not harm someone 'Dikshita' (consecrated) for a Vedic sacrifice, the worlds are incapable of willfully harming Rama, who is consecrated in the penance of forest life. Lakshmana delivers the verdict: 'Tam anveshitum arhasi' (You deserve/ought to search for him). Destruction is not the solution; investigation is. This marks the strategic pivot from a mindset of total annihilation to one of focused exploration.

यहाँ एक सुंदर दृष्टांत दिया गया है। जैसे 'दीक्षित' (यज्ञ करने वाले) व्यक्ति का सम्मान सब करते हैं और उसे हानि नहीं पहुँचाते, वैसे ही राम, जो वनवास रूपी तप में दीक्षित हैं, उनका अहित ये लोक नहीं कर सकते। लक्ष्मण निष्कर्ष पर आते हैं: "तम् अन्वेषितुम् अर्हसि" (आपको उसे खोजना चाहिए)। विनाश विकल्प नहीं है; 'खोज' (Search/Investigation) ही एकमात्र सही रास्ता है। यह 'Action Plan' का बदलाव है—Destruction से Exploration की ओर।
