Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
त्वत् विधा नहि शोचन्ति सततम् सर्व दर्शिनः ।
सुमहत्सु अपि कृच्छ्रेषु राम अनिर्विण्ण दर्शनाः ॥३-६६-१५॥
tvat vidhā nahi śocanti satatam sarva darśinaḥ |
sumahatsu api kṛcchreṣu rāma anirviṇṇa darśanāḥ ॥3-66-15॥
Translation
For people like you, who are all-seeing (wise), do not grieve continuously; even in the greatest of difficulties, O Rama, their intellect remains undepressed (unclouded).

हे राम! आप जैसे तत्वदर्शी (सब कुछ देखने वाले), जो घोर संकटों में भी उत्साह नहीं खोते, वे निरंतर शोक नहीं करते।
English Commentary
Lakshmana distinguishes between momentary sorrow and perpetual grief. He characterizes Rama as Sarva-darshinah (All-seeing/Seer of Truth). A wise man may feel pain, but he does not dwell in it indefinitely ("satatam"). The key attribute highlighted here is anirvinna-darshanah—possessing an outlook that is never despondent or lethargic. Even in "sumahatsu krichhreshu" (extreme difficulties), the true leader maintains mental clarity and energy. Lakshmana is mirroring Rama's ideal self back to him, suggesting that prolonged mourning is a contradiction to Rama's inherent wisdom and energetic nature. It is a call to snap out of the depressive stupor.

लक्ष्मण राम की वास्तविक प्रकृति का वर्णन करते हैं। 'सर्वदर्शिनः' का अर्थ है वे ज्ञानी जो भूत, भविष्य और वर्तमान के सत्य को समझते हैं। ज्ञानी व्यक्ति को भी दुःख हो सकता है, लेकिन वह 'सततम्' (निरंतर) शोक नहीं करता। वह संभल जाता है। 'अनिर्विण्ण दर्शनाः' एक महत्वपूर्ण वाक्यांश है—इसका अर्थ है जिनकी दृष्टि या बुद्धि कभी हताश (Depressed) नहीं होती। संकट चाहे कितना भी बड़ा ('सुमहत्सु अपि कृच्छ्रेषु') क्यों न हो, महापुरुष अपनी मानसिक स्थिरता और आशा नहीं छोड़ते। लक्ष्मण राम को याद दिला रहे हैं कि वे कौन हैं—वे ज्ञान और धैर्य के सागर हैं, और उन्हें अपने इस स्वरूप को पुनः प्राप्त करना चाहिए।
