इति उक्त्वा अभ्यपतत् गृध्रम् सन्धाय धनुषि क्षुरम् ।
क्रुद्धो रामः समुद्र अन्ताम् चालयन् इव मेदिनीम् ॥३-६७-१३॥
iti uktvā abhyapatat gṛdhram sandhāya dhanuṣi kṣuram |
kruddho rāmaḥ samudra antām cālayan iva medinīm ॥3-67-13॥
Translation
Saying thus, and fixing a sharp arrow on his bow, the angry Rama rushed towards the vulture, seemingly shaking the earth up to the ocean's edge.
हिंदी अनुवाद
ऐसा कहकर और धनुष पर तीक्ष्ण बाण चढ़ाकर, क्रुद्ध राम उस गिद्ध की ओर दौड़े, मानो वे समुद्र पर्यंत (संपूर्ण) पृथ्वी को कंपित कर रहे हों।
English Commentary
The climax of the misunderstanding. Rama charges ('abhyapatat') at the dying bird. The imagery of him 'shaking the earth to the ocean's limits' illustrates the sheer physical power and intensity of his rage. He is fully committed to the attack. The tension is palpable as the 'Protector of Dharma' is seconds away from committing a terrible mistake due to ignorance. It serves as a prelude to the emotional reversal that will occur when Jatayu speaks.

क्रिया (Action) अपने चरम पर है। राम आक्रमण के लिए दौड़ पड़ते हैं ('अभ्यपतत्')। उनकी गति और क्रोध इतना तीव्र है कि ऐसा प्रतीत होता है कि उनके कदमों से समुद्र तक फैली पृथ्वी कांप रही है ('चालयन् इव मेदिनीम्')। 'क्षुर' बाण संधान किया हुआ है। यह दृश्य रौद्र रस से भरा है। राम साक्षात् मृत्यु बनकर जटायु की ओर बढ़ रहे हैं। यह श्लोक राम के अद्वितीय पराक्रम और उस समय के उनके भयानक स्वरूप का चित्रण करता है।
