या गतिः यज्ञ शीलानाम् आहित अग्नेः च या गतिः ।
अ पर आवर्तिनाम् या च या च भूमि प्रदायिनाम् ॥ ॥३-६८-२९॥
Yā gatiḥ yajña śīlānām āhita agneḥ ca yā gatiḥ । A para āvartinām yā ca yā ca bhūmi pradāyinām ॥ ॥3-68-29॥
Translation
The supreme state attained by those of sacrificial nature, the destination of those who maintain the sacred fires, the state of those who never retreat from battle, and the destiny of those who donate land...
हिंदी अनुवाद
यज्ञशील (निरंतर यज्ञ करने वाले) लोगों को, अग्निहोत्रियों (नित्य अग्नि सेवा करने वाले) को, युद्ध से कभी न भागने वाले वीरों को, और भूमि-दान करने वालों को जो परम गति प्राप्त होती है... (अगले श्लोक से अन्वय)।
English Commentary
Rama enumerates the highest spiritual destinations (gati) attainable in Vedic theology to bless Jatayu. He compares Jatayu’s destiny to those who are Yajña śīlānām (performers of elaborate sacrifices), Āhitāgneḥ (keepers of the perpetual sacred fire), Aparāvartinām (warriors who never retreat/turn back), and Bhūmi pradāyinām (donors of land). By invoking these specific categories, Rama validates Jatayu's life as a combination of priestly piety (through devotion) and warrior honor (through bravery).

श्रीराम यहाँ जटायु के लिए उन लोकों (स्वर्ग/मोक्ष) का आवाहन कर रहे हैं जो समाज के सर्वश्रेष्ठ पुण्यात्माओं को मिलते हैं। वे चार प्रकार के पुण्य कर्म गिनाते हैं: १. यज्ञ करने वाले, २. अग्निहोत्री ब्राह्मण, ३. 'अपरावर्तिनाम्' (पीठ न दिखाने वाले वीर क्षत्रिय), और ४. भूमि दान करने वाले। जटायु ने युद्ध में पीठ न दिखाकर क्षत्रिय धर्म निभाया और परोपकार करके यज्ञ का फल पाया। राम यह घोषणा कर रहे हैं कि जटायु को ये सभी उच्च गतियां प्राप्त होंगी। यह राम का आशीर्वाद और संकल्प है।
