Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
मया त्वम् समनुज्ञातो गच्छ लोकान् अनुत्तमान् ।
गृध्र राज महा सत्त्व संस्कृतः च मया व्रज ॥ ॥३-६८-३०॥
Mayā tvam samanujñāto gaccha lokān anuttamān । Gṛdhra rāja mahā sattva samskṛtaḥ ca mayā vraja ॥ ॥3-68-30॥
Translation
(May you attain those states). O King of vultures, O being of great strength! Permitted by me and consecrated by me, may you depart to those unexcelled worlds.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(...वह गति तुम्हें प्राप्त हो)। हे महाबलशाली गृध्रराज! मेरे द्वारा आज्ञा प्राप्त कर और मेरे द्वारा संस्कारित होकर तुम उन सर्वोत्तम लोकों को जाओ।
English Commentary
This is the climactic benediction. Rama authorizes (samanujñāto) Jatayu's ascent to the highest heavens. In Hindu eschatology, the Sankalpa (will/intent) of the performer of the rites powers the soul's journey. Rama addresses him as Mahā sattva (great being/essence), acknowledging his spiritual fortitude. The phrase Samskṛtaḥ ca mayā (sanctified/consecrated by me) implies that the touch of Rama and the rites performed by him act as the ultimate purification, guaranteeing salvation irrespective of previous karmas.

यह मोक्ष प्रदान करने वाला श्लोक है। 'मया त्वम् समनुज्ञातो' (मेरे द्वारा अनुज्ञा/आज्ञा प्राप्त)—यहाँ राम परब्रह्म के रूप में या एक सिद्ध पुरुष के रूप में जटायु को मुक्त कर रहे हैं। शास्त्रों के अनुसार, अंत्येष्टि करने वाले की 'अनुज्ञा' प्रेत को आगे की यात्रा पर भेजती है। 'संस्कृतः च मया' का अर्थ है 'मेरे द्वारा संस्कार (शुद्धि) किया गया'। राम कहते हैं कि मेरे हाथों से संस्कार होने के कारण तुम अब सभी पापों से मुक्त होकर सर्वोत्तम लोकों ('लोकान् अनुत्तमान्') को जाओ। यहाँ राम का ईश्वरत्व और मानवीय प्रेम दोनों झलकते हैं।
