एकेन उरसि घोरेण नयनेन आशु दर्शिना ।
महा दंष्ट्र उपपन्नम् तम् लेलिहानम् महा मुखम् ॥ ॥३-६९-३०॥
Ekena urasi ghoreṇa nayanena āśu darśinā । Mahā daṃṣṭra upapannam tam lelihānam mahā mukham ॥ ॥3-69-30॥
Translation
...with that single terrible eye located on his chest, which could see quickly/sharply. His massive mouth was filled with huge teeth (fangs) and he was licking it repeatedly.

...उसकी छाती में एक ही भयानक आँख थी जो सब कुछ शीघ्रता से देख लेती थी। (पेट में स्थित) उसका विशाल मुख बड़ी-बड़ी दाढ़ों से युक्त था और वह उसे बार-बार चाट रहा था।
English Commentary
This completes the description initiated in the previous verse. Ekena urasi confirms the Cyclopean trait—one eye on the chest. Āśu darśinā (seeing quickly/sharp-sighted) counters the idea that large monsters are slow or dim-witted; he is alert. The focus then shifts to the mouth in the stomach, described as lelihānam (licking repeatedly). This action signifies anticipation of food and insatiable hunger. Combined with mahā daṃṣṭra (great fangs), the imagery is predatory. Kabandha is depicted not as a warrior, but as a consuming force, waiting to devour the princes.

श्लोक 29 का वाक्य यहाँ पूरा होता है। 'एकेन उरसि... नयनेन' पुष्टि करता है कि छाती में एक ही आंख थी। 'आशु दर्शिना' का अर्थ है कि विशाल होने के बावजूद उसकी दृष्टि तेज थी, वह अपने शिकार को तुरंत देख लेता था। इसके बाद ध्यान उसके 'मुख' पर जाता है जो पेट में था। 'महा दंष्ट्र' (बड़ी दाढ़ें) और 'लेलिहानम्' (जीभ से चाटना) उसकी बुभुक्षा (भूख) को दिखाते हैं। वह अपने शिकार को खाने के लिए लालायित था। यह चित्र—छाती में जलती आंख और पेट में जीभ लपलपाता मुंह—अत्यंत घृणित और डरावना है।
