भवान् सर्वत्र कुशलः सर्वभूत हिते रतः ।
आख्यातः शरभंगेन गौतमेन महात्मना ॥ ॥३-७-१६॥
Bhavān sarvatra kuśalaḥ sarvabhūta hite ratah । ākhyātaḥ śarabhaṅgena gautamena mahātmanā ॥ ॥3-7-16॥
Translation
"That you are skilled in all matters and engaged in the welfare of all beings—this was told to me by the great soul Sage Sarabhanga of the Gautama lineage."

"आप सब प्रकार से कुशल हैं और समस्त प्राणियों के हित में लगे रहते हैं—ऐसा मुझे महात्मा गौतम वंशीय शरभंग ऋषि ने बताया था।"
English Commentary
Rama clarifies that his arrival here is not accidental but based on a specific recommendation from Sage Sarabhanga. The phrase 'sarvabhuta hite ratah' (engaged in the welfare of all beings) is the highest accolade for a sage. It implies that Sutikshna is not just pursuing personal liberation but is actively benevolent towards the world. By citing this, Rama politely asserts his claim to the sage's guidance, knowing that a benevolent sage would not refuse help. It also illustrates the interconnected network of ascetics in the forest, where news and reputations traveled through word of mouth among the wise.

राम यहाँ बताते हैं कि वे सुतीक्ष्ण के पास संयोगवश नहीं आए, बल्कि एक विशिष्ट सिफारिश (reference) पर आए हैं। ऋषि शरभंग ने उन्हें सुतीक्ष्ण के पास भेजा था। 'सर्वभूत हिते रतः' (सभी प्राणियों के हित में लीन) एक ऋषि के लिए सबसे बड़ा विशेषण है। इसका अर्थ है कि ऋषि केवल अपनी मुक्ति नहीं चाहते, बल्कि समाज और प्रकृति का भी कल्याण करते हैं। राम इस बात का उल्लेख करके यह जता रहे हैं कि वे ऋषि से मार्गदर्शन पाने के अधिकारी हैं क्योंकि ऋषि का स्वभाव ही परोपकार है। यह संवाद ऋषियों के आपसी नेटवर्क और उनके बीच के सम्मान को भी दर्शाता है।
