Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अयम् एव आश्रमो राम गुणवान् रम्यताम् इति ।
ऋषि संघ अनुचरितः सदा मूल फलैर् युतः ॥ ॥३-७-१८॥
Ayam eva āśramo rāma guṇavān ramyatām iti । ṛṣi saṃgha anucaritaḥ sadā mūla phalair yutaḥ ॥ ॥3-7-18॥
Translation
"O Rama, this very hermitage is meritorious; may you delight in staying here. It is frequented by groups of sages and is always stocked with roots and fruits."

"हे राम! यह आश्रम ही गुणों से युक्त है, अतः आप यहीं रहें। यहाँ ऋषियों के समूह आते-जाते रहते हैं और यहाँ सदा कंद-मूल और फल उपलब्ध रहते हैं।"
English Commentary
Sage Sutikshna invites Rama to stay in his own hermitage rather than looking elsewhere. He lists three key advantages of his ashram: 1) It is 'Gunavan' (virtuous/meritorious), implying a spiritually charged atmosphere. 2) It is visited by groups of sages, ensuring good company (Satsang). 3) It is always abundant in roots and fruits, addressing the practical survival needs of forest life. By guaranteeing food security and spiritual society, the sage tries to persuade Rama to settle there. This reflects his deep attachment; he wishes to keep the Divine presence of Rama close to him.

ऋषि सुतीक्ष्ण राम को कहीं और जाने के बजाय अपने ही आश्रम में रहने का निमंत्रण देते हैं। वे आश्रम के तीन गुण बताते हैं: 1) 'गुणवान्' - यह स्थान पवित्र और दोषमुक्त है, 2) 'ऋषि संघ अनुचरितः' - यहाँ सत्संग का लाभ मिलेगा क्योंकि अन्य ऋषि आते रहते हैं, और 3) 'सदा मूल फलैर् युतः' - जीवन निर्वाह के लिए भोजन की कोई कमी नहीं है। वन में भोजन की सुरक्षा एक बड़ी चिंता होती है, जिसका आश्वासन ऋषि दे रहे हैं। यह प्रस्ताव उनके वात्सल्य को दिखाता है; वे राम को अपनी आँखों से ओझल नहीं होने देना चाहते।
