शक्यो हन्तुम् यथा तत्त्वम् एवम् उक्तम् महर्षिणा ।
अहम् हि मति साचिव्यम् करिष्यामि नर ऋषभ ॥३-७१-१९॥
Śakyo hantum yathā tattvam evam uktam maharṣiṇā । Aham hi mati sācivyam kariṣyāmi nara ṛṣabha ॥ ॥3-71-19॥
Translation
"...could I be killed, as was truly said by the great sage. I will indeed offer you counsel (help with my intellect), O bull among men."

"...मारा जा सकता हूँ, जैसा कि महर्षि ने यथार्थ कहा था। हे नरों में श्रेष्ठ! मैं निश्चय ही (अब) आपको अपनी बुद्धि से सहायता (परामर्श) दूंगा।"
English Commentary
Kabandha now offers a reciprocal service. Since Rama has fulfilled the condition for his release, Kabandha pledges his help in return. He promises mati sācivyam (counsel of the intellect). Being on the verge of death, he cannot offer physical aid, but his knowledge and restored celestial vision will be invaluable. He positions himself as a strategic advisor (saciva) to guide Rama in his quest for Sita.

कबन्ध अब 'क्विड प्रो क्वो' (लेन-देन) का प्रस्ताव रखता है। चूँकि राम ने उसे शाप से मुक्त करने का कार्य (वध) कर दिया है, अब कबन्ध अपना ऋण चुकाएगा। वह 'मति साचिव्यम्' (बुद्धि की सहायता/परामर्श) देने का वचन देता है। शारीरिक रूप से वह मदद नहीं कर सकता (क्योंकि वह मर रहा है), लेकिन उसका ज्ञान और दिव्य दृष्टि राम के लिए उपयोगी ہوگی। यह सीता की खोज में पहला महत्वपूर्ण सुराग है।
