दिशो विचेतुम् ताम् सीताम् त्वत् वियोगेन शोचयतीम् ।
अन्वेष्यति वरारोहाम् मैथिलीम् रावण आलये ॥ ॥३-७२-२६॥
Diśo vicetum tām sītām tvat viyogena śocayatīm । Anveṣyati varārohām maithilīm rāvaṇa ālaye ॥ ॥3-72-26॥
Translation
To search the directions for that Sita who is grieving due to separation from you, he will search for the beautiful-waisted Maithili even in Ravana's abode.

आपके वियोग में शोक करती हुई उस सीता को खोजने के लिए वह (सुग्रीव) दसों दिशाओं को छान मारेगा और रावण के गृह में (छिपी हुई) उस सुंदरी (वरारोहा) मैथिली का pata लगा लेगा।
English Commentary
This verse connects the emotional urgency of the quest with a specific geographical target. By describing Sita as grieving due to separation (tvat viyogena śocayatīm), Kabandha appeals to Rama's protective instincts. Crucially, Kabandha explicitly mentions "Ravana's abode" (Rāvaṇa ālaye) as the ultimate location of the search, narrowing down the possibilities for Rama. This is prophetic guidance, confirming the abductor's identity and location. The phrase diśo vicetum (to search the directions) implies a systematic, all-encompassing search strategy that will inevitably zero in on the demon king's stronghold, leaving no stone unturned to find the princess of Mithila.

यहाँ सीता की मानसिक स्थिति और सुग्रीव के अन्वेषण की गहनता, दोनों का चित्रण है। सीता 'त्वत् वियोगेन शोचयतीम्' हैं, अर्थात राम के विरह में संतप्त हैं, जो राम की व्यग्रता को और बढ़ाता है। कबंध यहाँ एक महत्वपूर्ण भविष्यवाणी करता है कि सुग्रीव का अन्वेषण अंततः 'रावण आलये' (रावण के घर) तक पहुँचेगा। अभी तक राम को यह निश्चित रूप से ज्ञात नहीं है कि सीता कहाँ है, लेकिन कबंध अपनी दिव्य दृष्टि से संकेत दे रहा है कि लक्ष्य रावण का निवास स्थान है। 'वरारोहाम्' विशेषण सीता की सुंदरता और कुलीनता का द्योतक है, जो यह दर्शाता है कि ऐसी स्त्री का अपमान प्रकृति और धर्म सहन नहीं करेंगे, अतः उनकी खोज अवश्य सफल होगी।
