ततः चिताया वेगेन भास्वरो विरज अंबरः ।
उत्पपात आशु संहृष्टः सर्व प्रत्यंग भूषणः ॥३-७२-५॥
Tataḥ citāyā vegena bhāsvaro viraja ambaraḥ |
Utpapāta āshu saṃhṛṣṭaḥ sarva pratyaṃga bhūṣaṇaḥ ॥3-72-5॥
Translation
Then, shining in spotless garments and adorned with ornaments on every limb, he joyfully sprang up into the sky from the pyre with great speed.

तदनन्तर, चमचमाते हुए निर्मल वस्त्रों वाला वह पुरुष प्रसन्नचित्त होकर, जिसके सभी अंगों में आभूषण सजे थे, वेगपूर्वक चिता से ऊपर (आकाश में) उछला।
English Commentary
The word 'utpapata' (sprang up/flew up) indicates his release from both gravity and the weight of the curse. His extreme joy ('samhrishtah') is natural as eons of suffering have ended. The ornaments on every limb signify the restoration of his Gandharva glory. This transformation serves as a divine validation for Rama and Lakshmana, witnessing that their actions—even the severing of arms—have ultimately led to the liberation of a soul.
