Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
फलानि अमृत कल्पानि लक्ष्मणः ते प्रदास्यति ।
चङ्क्रमंतौ वरान् शैलान् शैलात् शैलम् वनात् वनम् ॥ ॥३-७३-१०॥
Phalāni amṛta kalpāni lakṣmaṇaḥ te pradāsyati । Caṅkramantau varān śailān śailāt śailam vanāt vanam ॥ ॥3-73-10॥
Translation
While wandering over excellent mountains, from mountain to mountain and forest to forest, Lakshmana will offer you fruits comparable to nectar.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(हे राम!) एक पर्वत से दूसरे पर्वत और एक वन से दूसरे वन में विचरण करते हुए, लक्ष्मण आपको अमृत के समान मधुर फल (तोड़कर) देंगे।
English Commentary
This verse highlights the fraternal dynamic and the protocol of service. Even in the wild, Lakshmana acts as the provider/servant (dāsa), ensuring Rama is fed. The repetition of śailāt śailam (from rock to rock) and vanāt vanam (from forest to forest) vividly captures the arduous trekking required. However, the hardship is mitigated by the 'nectar-like' fruits provided by Lakshmana. Kabandha is painting a picture of their imminent journey where the landscape is vast and changing, but the bond between the brothers remains the constant support system.

यहाँ राम और लक्ष्मण के बीच के स्नेहपूर्ण संबंध और मर्यादा का चित्रण है। यद्यपि दोनों भाई साथ चल रहे हैं, कबंध जानता है कि सेवा का कार्य लक्ष्मण ही करेंगे। 'अमृत कल्पानि' (अमृत के समान) फलों का वर्णन शारीरिक और मानसिक तृप्ति का संकेत है। 'शैलात् शैलम् वनात् वनम्' (पर्वत से पर्वत, वन से वन) वाक्यांश यात्रा की निरंतरता और कठिनाई को दर्शाता है, लेकिन लक्ष्मण की सेवा इस कठिन यात्रा को राम के लिए सुगम बना देगी। यह भविष्यद्वाणी लक्ष्मण की अटूट सेवा-भावना (कैंकर्य) को भी प्रतिष्ठित करती है।
