Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
पंपायाम् इषुभिः मत्स्यान् तत्र राम वरान् हतान् ।
निस्त्वक्पक्षानयसतप्तानकृशान्नैककण्टकान् ॥ ॥३-७३-१५॥
Pampāyām iṣubhiḥ matsyān tatra rāma varān hatān । Nistvakpakṣān ayasataptān akṛśān na ekakaṇṭakān ॥ ॥3-73-15॥
Translation
O Rama! There in Pampa, [Lakshmana will offer you] excellent fish killed with arrows, stripped of skin and fins, roasted on iron (spits), fleshy (not thin), and having a single bone (or few bones).
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे राम! वहाँ पंपा में बाणों से मारे गए, श्रेष्ठ, मोटे (अकृशान् - जो दुबले न हों), त्वचा और पंख/शल्क रहित किए हुए (निस्त्वक्पक्षान्), लोहे की सलाखों पर भूनें हुए (अयस तप्तान्) और जिनमे केवल एक ही कांटा हो (नैककण्टकान् - या बहुत कांटे न हों), ऐसे मछलियों को (लक्ष्मण देंगे)।
English Commentary
