तेषाम् भार अभितप्तानाम् वन्यम् आहरताम् गुरोः ।
ये प्रपेतुः महीम् तूर्णम् शरीरात् स्वेद बिन्दवः ॥ ॥३-७३-२४॥
Teṣām bhāra abhitaptānām vanyam āharatām guroḥ । Ye prapetuḥ mahīm tūrṇam śarīrāṭ sveda bindavaḥ ॥ ॥3-73-24॥
Translation
While fetching wild produce for their Guru, oppressed by the weight (of the burden), drops of sweat fell quickly from their bodies onto the ground.

English Commentary
Kabandha explains the origin of the miraculous flowers. They were born from the sveda bindavaḥ (drops of sweat) of the disciples. The imagery of the sages being bhāra abhitaptānām (heated/pained by the burden) while fetching supplies for their teacher underscores the intense physical labor involved in their Guru Seva (service to the guru). It elevates manual labor performed in the spirit of devotion to a divine act. This backstory creates a deeply emotional landscape for Rama, emphasizing values of duty and devotion that resonate with his own character.

यह श्लोक 'गुरु भक्ति' और 'श्रम' (hard work) की महिमा का गान करता है। मतंग मुनि के शिष्य अपने वृद्ध गुरु की सेवा के लिए वनों से फल-फूल लाते थे। 'भार अभितप्तानाम्' (भार से संतप्त/थके हुए) दर्शाता है कि वे अपनी शारीरिक सीमाओं से परे जाकर सेवा करते थे। उनके शरीर से गिरने वाले 'स्वेद बिन्दवः' (पसीने की बूंदें) साधारण जल नहीं, बल्कि उनकी तपस्या और समर्पण का द्रव रूप थीं। वाल्मीकि यहाँ यह संदेश दे रहे हैं कि गुरु सेवा में बहाया गया पसीना अमृत और फूलों में परिवर्तित हो सकता है।
