शयानः पुरुषो राम तस्य शैलस्य मूर्धनि ।
यत् स्वप्ने लभते वित्तम् तत् प्रबुद्धो अधिगच्छति ॥३-७३-३३॥
śayānaḥ puruṣo rāma tasya śailasya mūrdhani |
yat svapne labhate vittam tat prabuddho adhigacchati ॥3-73-33॥
Translation
O Rama, whatever wealth a man obtains in a dream while sleeping on the peak of that mountain, he actually possesses it upon waking up.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे राम! उस पर्वत के शिखर पर सोते हुए पुरुष को स्वप्न में जो धन (या वस्तु) प्राप्त होता है, वह जागने पर उसे वास्तव में मिल जाता है।
English Commentary
Here, the celestial being Kabandha describes the mystical potency of the Rishyamuka mountain to Lord Rama. By stating that dreams dreamt on its peak manifest into reality upon waking, Kabandha highlights the supernatural influence of Sage Matanga that still permeates the region. This imagery serves to establish the location not just as a geographical landmark, but as a sanctuary of spiritual power (siddha kshetra). For Rama, who is currently in a state of loss, hearing about a place where desires manifest effortlessly offers a subtle shimmer of hope. It suggests that this is the right environment to forge the alliance that will eventually lead to the recovery of Sita.
