अद्य प्राप्ता तपः सिद्धिः तव संदर्शनात् मया ।
अद्य मे सफलम् जन्म गुरवः च सुपूजिताः ॥३-७४-११॥
adya prāptā tapaḥ siddhiḥ tava saṃdarśanāt mayā |
adya me saphalam janma guravaḥ ca supūjitāḥ ॥3-74-11॥
Translation
"Today, by your sight, I have attained the fruition of my penance. Today my birth has become fruitful, and my Gurus have been well-worshipped."

"आज आपके दर्शन से मुझे अपनी तपस्या की सिद्धि प्राप्त हो गई है। आज मेरा जन्म सफल हो गया और (आपकी सेवा से) मेरे गुरुजनों की भी भली-भांति पूजा हो गई।"
English Commentary
Shabari's words encapsulate the essence of Bhakti Yoga. She equates the mere sight (darshan) of Rama with the ultimate perfection (siddhi) of all her ascetic practices. For her, spirituality was not about acquiring powers, but about this specific meeting. By stating "my birth is fruitful," she implies that all prior existence was merely a preparation for this moment. Crucially, she links this event to her teachers (Guravah). She believes that her ability to serve Rama is the final offering to her Gurus, who had predicted this arrival. It illustrates the concept that pleasing the Lord is the highest form of service to one's Guru.

शबरी का यह कथन भक्ति साहित्य का एक स्वर्णिम क्षण है। वह राम के दर्शन को ही अपनी वर्षों की कठोर तपस्या का अंतिम फल ('तपः सिद्धि') मानती हैं। उनके अनुसार, जीवन का उद्देश्य भगवान को प्राप्त करना है, और आज वह उद्देश्य पूरा हो गया, इसलिए उनका 'जन्म सफल' है। सबसे महत्वपूर्ण बात यह है कि वह इस सफलता का श्रेय स्वयं को नहीं देतीं, बल्कि इसे अपने गुरुओं की पूजा मानती हैं। उनका मानना है कि राम का आना उनके गुरुओं के आशीर्वाद और भविष्यवाणी का परिणाम है, इसलिए राम का सत्कार करना परोक्ष रूप से गुरुओं का ही तर्पण है। यह गुरु-भक्ति और ईश्वर-भक्ति के अद्वैत (एकता) को दर्शाता है।
