चित्रकूटम् त्वयि प्राप्ते विमानैः अतुल प्रभैः ।
इतः ते दिवम् आरूढा यान् अहम् पर्यचारिषम् ॥३-७४-१४॥
citrakūṭam tvayi prāpte vimānaiḥ atula prabhaiḥ |
itaḥ te divam ārūḍhā yān aham paryacāriṣam ॥3-74-14॥
Translation
"When you reached Chitrakuta, those sages whom I used to serve ascended to heaven from here in aerial chariots of incomparable radiance."

"जब आप (अयोध्या से वनवास के लिए) चित्रकूट पहुँचे थे, तब वे ऋषि जिनकी मैंने सेवा की थी, यहाँ से अतुलनीय आभा वाले विमानों द्वारा दिव्य लोक (स्वर्ग) को चले गए।"
English Commentary
Shabari provides a retrospective narrative to explain her presence. She links the timing of her Gurus' ascension to Rama's arrival at Chitrakuta years earlier. This reveals that she has been waiting in solitude for a significant duration since the sages departed. The mention of Vimanas (celestial chariots) confirms that the sages she served were highly realized souls. Her identity is framed through service (paryacharisham); she remained behind not for her own sake, but to fulfill the final command of these departing masters, demonstrating loyalty that transcends even the separation of death.
