तैः च अहम् उक्ता धर्म ज्ञैः महाभागैः महर्षिभिः ।
आगमिष्यति ते रामः सु पुण्यम् इमम् आश्रमम् ॥३-७४-१५॥
taiḥ ca aham uktā dharma jñaiḥ mahābhāgaiḥ maharṣibhiḥ |
āgamiṣyati te rāmaḥ su puṇyam imam āśramam ॥3-74-15॥
Translation
"Those illustrious great sages, knowers of Dharma, said to me: 'Rama will come to your exceedingly holy hermitage'."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"उन धर्मज्ञ और महाभाग्यशाली महर्षियों ने (जाते समय) मुझसे कहा था—'राम तुम्हारे इस अत्यंत पवित्र आश्रम में आएंगे'।"
English Commentary
This verse reveals the prophetic command that governed Shabari's life. The sages, described as Dharma-jnyaih (knowers of Dharma/Truth), possessed the foresight of Rama’s path. Their instruction was specific: Rama will come here. By staying back, Shabari was essentially guarding the sanctity of the ashram ("Su punyam imam ashramam") for Rama's arrival. It underscores the power of a Guru's word; Shabari’s entire spiritual practice was simply holding onto this promise with unwavering faith, turning a waiting period into a prolonged meditation on Rama.

यह वह भविष्यवाणी है जिसने शबरी को जीवित रखा। ऋषियों ने उन्हें आश्वासन दिया था कि राम आयेंगे। यहाँ आश्रम को 'सु पुण्यम्' (अत्यंत पवित्र) और 'इमम् आश्रमम्' (तुम्हारे आश्रम) कहा गया है। ऋषियों ने आश्रम शबरी को सौंप दिया था। 'धर्मज्ञैः' (धर्म के ज्ञाता) विशेषण बताता है कि ऋषियों को राम के अवतार और उनकी यात्रा के मार्ग का ज्ञान था। यह श्लोक गुरु-वाक्य में निष्ठा का प्रतीक है। शबरी ने कोई प्रश्न नहीं किया, बस वर्षों तक उस एक वाक्य के सहारे प्रतीक्षा की।
