शबरी दर्शयामास तौ उभौ तत् वनम् महत् ।
पश्य मेघ घन प्रख्यम् मृग पक्षि समाकुलम् ॥३-७४-२१॥
śabarī darśayāmāsa tau ubhau tat vanam mahat |
paśya megha ghana prakhyam mṛga pakṣi samākulam ॥3-74-21॥
Translation
...Shabari showed that great forest to both of them. (She said:) "Behold this forest, resembling a mass of clouds and filled with deer and birds..."

...शबरी ने उन दोनों को वह विशाल वन दिखाना आरम्भ किया। (वह बोलीं)—"देखिये, मेघों के समूह के समान आभा वाला और मृगों तथा पक्षियों से भरा हुआ यह (मतंग) वन..."
English Commentary
Shabari eagerly accepts the request and begins the tour. She points out the aesthetic qualities of the forest, comparing its dense, dark foliage to "masses of clouds" (megha ghana prakhyam). This imagery suggests a lush, cool, and shadowy environment, a sanctuary for biodiversity (mriga pakshi samakulam). It represents the vibrant backdrop against which the silent asceticism of the sages took place. Shabari is not just showing trees; she is revealing the sacred space that nurtured her devotion.
