इयम् प्रत्यक् स्थली वेदी यत्र ते मे सुसत्कृताः ।
पुष्प उपहारम् कुर्वन्ति श्रमात् उद् वेपिभिः करैः ॥ ॥३-७४-२३॥
Iyam pratyak sthalī vedī yatra te me susat kṛtāḥ |
Puṣpa upahāram kurvanti śramāt ud vepibhiḥ karaiḥ ॥3-74-23॥
Translation
This altar on the western high ground is where those revered teachers of mine, with hands trembling from fatigue (due to age and austerity), used to offer flower tributes.

यह पश्चिम दिशा की ओर ऊँची वेदी है, जहाँ मेरे वे पूज्य गुरुजन (वृद्धावस्था और तपस्या के) श्रम से काँपते हुए हाथों से पुष्पों का उपहार (अंजलि) अर्पित करते थे।
English Commentary
Here, Mata Shabari poignantly describes the dedication of her gurus (the disciples of Sage Matanga). The mention of "hands trembling from fatigue" highlights their advanced age and physical frailty resulting from severe austerities. Despite their trembling hands, their commitment to offering flower tributes (Pushpa Upaharam) never wavered. This verse serves as a testament to the supremacy of spiritual will over physical limitation. Shabari is guiding Shri Ram through a sacred geography of memory and devotion. It underscores that the sanctity of a place is derived from the sincere devotion performed there. For Shabari, witnessing her gurus' struggle to perform worship was itself a lesson in unwavering faith.

यहाँ शबरी अपने गुरुओं (मतंग मुनि के शिष्यों) की तपस्या और भक्ति का मर्मस्पर्शी वर्णन कर रही हैं। 'श्रम' और 'काँपते हाथ' यह दर्शाते हैं कि वे ऋषि अत्यंत वृद्ध और कृशकाय थे, फिर भी उनकी नित्य पूजा और देव-अर्चना में कोई कमी नहीं आती थी। वे शारीरिक रूप से दुर्बल होते हुए भी आत्मिक रूप से सशक्त थे। शबरी प्रभु श्री राम को वह स्थान दिखा रही हैं जो उन ऋषियों की साधना से पवित्र हुआ है। यह श्लोक गुरु-भक्ति और निष्ठा का प्रतीक है; शबरी ने न केवल उनकी सेवा की, बल्कि उनकी प्रत्येक क्रिया को अपने हृदय में संजो कर रखा है। एक साधक के लिए उसके गुरु की प्रत्येक चेष्टा स्मरणीय और पूजनीय होती है।
