Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तेषाम् तपः प्रभावेन पश्य अद्य अपि रघूत्तम ।
द्योतयन्ति दिशः सर्वाः श्रिया वेद्यः अतुल प्रभाः ॥ ॥३-७४-२४॥
Teṣām tapaḥ prabhāvena paśya adya api Raghūttama |
Dyotayanti diśaḥ sarvāḥ śriyā vedyaḥ atula prabhāḥ ॥3-74-24॥
Translation
O Best of the Raghus! Behold these altars which, even today, through the power of their (the sages') penance, illuminate all directions with their matchless splendor and radiance.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे रघूत्तम! उन ऋषियों के तप के प्रभाव से आज भी इन वेदियों को देखिए, जो अपनी अतुलनीय प्रभा और शोभा से दसों दिशाओं को प्रकाशित कर रही हैं।
English Commentary
This verse emphasizes the metaphysical durability of Tapas (penance). Although the sages have long since departed from their physical bodies, the spiritual energy they generated remains active and visible to the divine sight. Shabari addresses Shri Ram as Raghuttama (Best of Raghus), inviting him to witness the legacy of her masters. The altars do not just reflect light; they radiate an "incomparable splendor" (Atula Prabha) that lights up the directions. This suggests that the Matanga Ashram is a Siddha Bhumi (perfected ground), where the spiritual vibrations are self-sustaining, defying the erosion of time that usually effects material objects.

इस श्लोक में 'तप' की अमर शक्ति का वर्णन है। यद्यपि वे ऋषि शरीर त्याग चुके हैं, फिर भी उनके द्वारा प्रज्वलित की गई आध्यात्मिक अग्नि और सात्विक ऊर्जा उन वेदियों में अब भी विद्यमान है। श्री राम को 'रघूत्तम' संबोधित कर शबरी यह संकेत दे रही हैं कि केवल एक श्रेष्ठ आत्मा ही दूसरी श्रेष्ठ आत्मा के तप के तेज को देख और समझ सकती है। यह श्लोक सिद्ध करता है कि पवित्र कर्म और साधना का प्रभाव काल की सीमाओं से परे होता है। भौतिक देह नश्वर है, किन्तु तपस्या का तेज (प्रभा) स्थान विशेष में गूँजता रहता है और दिशाओं को आलोकित करता है।
