कृत्स्नम् वनम् इदम् दृष्टम् श्रोतव्यम् च श्रुतम् त्वया ।
तत् इच्छामि अभ्यनुज्ञाता त्यक्ष्यामि एतत् कलेवरम् ॥ ॥३-७४-२८॥
Kṛtsnam vanam idam dṛṣṭam śrotavyam ca śrutam tvayā |
Tat icchāmi abhyanujñātā tyakṣyāmi etat kalevaram ॥3-74-28॥
Translation
(O Ram!) You have seen this entire forest and heard what was to be heard. Now, permitted by you, I wish to cast off this body.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(हे राम!) आपने यह संपूर्ण वन देख लिया और जो सुनने योग्य था, वह सुन लिया। अब मैं आपकी आज्ञा चाहती हूँ, मैं इस शरीर का त्याग करना चाहती हूँ।
English Commentary
Shabari reaches the climax of her long waiting. Her life's mission—to preserve the ashram for Rama and to serve him—is complete. She states this with clarity: "You have seen... You have heard." There is nothing left for her in the material plane. She seeks Abhyanujnata (permission) to leave her body. This distinguishes her death from suicide; it is Iccha-mrityu (death by will) or Yogic shedding of the body, which requires the blessing of the Lord. It demonstrates that for a devotee, even the final liberation (Moksha) is a transaction of love and obedience to the Lord, not just a personal escape.

शबरी का जीवन उद्देश्य अब पूर्ण हो चुका है। उनका एकमात्र लक्ष्य श्री राम का दर्शन और आतिथ्य था। अब जब राम ने आश्रम देख लिया और गुरुओं की महिमा सुन ली, तो शबरी को इस नश्वर शरीर को रखने का कोई प्रयोजन नहीं दिखता। 'अभ्यनुज्ञाता' (अनुज्ञा/आज्ञा पाकर) शब्द बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है। एक भक्त या शिष्य अपनी मर्जी से देह-त्याग नहीं करता; वह अपने स्वामी या आराध्य की स्वीकृति चाहता है। यह शबरी की परम शरणागति है। वह मुक्ति भी राम की इच्छा के बिना स्वीकार नहीं करना चाहतीं। यहाँ मृत्यु का भय नहीं, बल्कि एक उत्सव की तैयारी है।
