Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तेषाम् इच्छामि अहम् गन्तुम् समीपम् भावित आत्मनाम् ।
मुनीनाम् आश्रमो येषām अहम् च परिचारिणी ॥ ॥३-७४-२९॥
Teṣām icchāmi aham gantum samīpam bhāvita ātmanām |
Munīnām āśramo yeṣām aham ca paricāriṇī ॥3-74-29॥
Translation
I wish to go near those sages of purified souls, whose hermitage this is, and of whom I was a servant.

मैं उन शुद्ध आत्मा वाले मुनियों के पास जाना चाहती हूँ, जिनका यह आश्रम है और जिनकी मैं (दासी/सेविका) रही हूँ।
English Commentary
This verse reveals Shabari's specific spiritual destination. She does not ask for an abstract liberation but specifically to reunite with her Gurus ("go near those sages"). Her identity is rooted in service; she refers to herself as Paricharini (servant/attendant). This reflects the ethos of the Guru-Shishya tradition where serving the teacher is higher than serving oneself. Even after attaining the vision of God (Rama), her loyalty to her teachers remains her guiding force. She attributes her spiritual success entirely to her service to them, and thus, her heaven is where they are.

साधारणतः साधक 'बैकुंठ' या 'मोक्ष' की कामना करते हैं, परन्तु शबरी की निष्ठा अपने गुरुओं के प्रति अटूट है। वह उस लोक में जाना चाहती हैं जहाँ उनके गुरु विद्यमान हैं। 'परिचारिणी' (सेविका) शब्द में उनका अभिमान-शून्य भाव झलकता है। वह स्वयं को महान तपस्विनी नहीं, बल्कि एक साधारण सेविका मानती हैं। यह 'दास्य भक्ति' का सर्वोच्च शिखर है। शबरी के लिए मुक्ति का अर्थ ईश्वर में विलीन होना नहीं, बल्कि अपने गुरुओं के चरणों में पुनः स्थान पाना है। राम के प्रति प्रेम और गुरु के प्रति निष्ठा का यह अद्भुत समन्वय है।
