Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
कच्चित् ते नियमाः प्राप्ताः कच्चित् ते मनसः सुखम् ।
कच्चित् ते गुरु शुश्रूषा सफला चारु भाषिणि ॥३-७४-९॥
kaccit te niyamāḥ prāptāḥ kaccit te manasaḥ sukham |
kaccit te guru śuśrūṣā saphalā cāru bhāṣiṇi ॥3-74-9॥
Translation
"O sweet-speaking one! I hope your vows have been fulfilled? I hope you have mental peace? I hope your service to your Guru has borne fruit?"
हिंदी अनुवाद
"हे मधुर बोलने वाली! क्या तुम्हारे नियम पूरे हो गए हैं? क्या तुम्हें मन का सुख (शांति) प्राप्त है? क्या तुम्हारी गुरु-सेवा सफल हो गई है?"
English Commentary
Rama continues his respectful interrogation. Addressing her as Charubhashini (sweet speaker) highlights her gentle and refined demeanor. The question regarding Guru shushrusha (service to the Guru) is deeply significant. Shabari stayed behind in the ashram to serve the sages and wait for Rama as per their instruction. By asking if this service has borne fruit (saphala), Rama is essentially asking if she feels her life's purpose has been achieved by his arrival. He is validating her life-long dedication to her teachers. It is a moment of profound acknowledgment of her sacrifice and devotion.

राम अपनी पूछताछ जारी रखते हैं। वे शबरी को 'चारु भाषिणि' (मीठा बोलने वाली) कहते हैं, जो राम की सौम्यता और शबरी के व्यक्तित्व की मिठास को दर्शाता है। राम पूछते हैं कि क्या उनकी 'गुरु शुश्रूषा' (गुरु सेवा) सफल हुई? यह अत्यंत मार्मिक है क्योंकि शबरी मतंग मुनि की शिष्या थीं और उन्हीं के आदेश पर राम की प्रतीक्षा कर रही थीं। राम के आगमन से ही उनकी गुरु सेवा सफल होनी थी। राम परोक्ष रूप से पूछ रहे हैं—"क्या तुम्हारी प्रतीक्षा पूरी हुई?" मन का सुख और नियमों की प्राप्ति, ये मोक्ष के निकट होने के लक्षण हैं।
